Adjusting BIOS Settings

The BIOS settings on your PC are probably fine. If you want to examine them, you can, but your mainboard probably recognizes all it needs to know about your hard drive, etc. To enter BIOS setup, a key, such as delete, is usually pressed when the system first starts up. Consult your mainboard manual if you want to learn more about BIOS setup.

Unless you’ve placed a Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM, you probably receive a message that says the system can’t find a bootable disk. We’ll change that in a moment.
