Speed Up Tasks by Using the Third (Middle) Mouse Button

If you have a mouse with three buttons, you should consider using software to program the middle button to perform a useful function. The most common one is a double-click; on my Logitech mouse, when I want to double-click an icon to launch it, or the corner of a window to close it, I need only press the middle button once. This sounds like no big deal, but it's a real time and hassle saver, to the point where I have trouble even using a two-button mouse now.

To set this up, you will need a three-button mouse from a reputable manufacturer (like Logitech). The mouse should come with a driver that will allow you to program the third button.
