Speed Up Video Performance by Adding Video Memory

Most video cards today use 64-bit internal video chipsets that are optimized for doing 64-bit access to the video memory. When you use a video card of this type with 2 MB of video memory, it is able to access 64 bits at a time, but if you have only 1 MB, it can only access 32 bits at a time. This is one of those rare situations where adding more video memory will also improve performance. See here for more information on this.
