Shadowing increases performance by copying the video BIOS code from video adapter's ROM to much faster system RAM. Enabling this setting will allow the system to cache this RAM as well, further increasing performance. Normally you will want to enable this unless you are having a problem with your system and turning it off fixes it. If you have video BIOS shadowing disabled, this setting will be ignored.
