• ATA-ATAPI.COM: Hale Landis's site, with lots of information on the ATA/IDE interface and associated standards, plus related topics.
• comp.virus FAQ page: A useful information resource on viruses.
• ECC FAQ: Detailed information on error correcting code technology.
• Enhanced IDE/Fast-ATA FAQ: Peter den Haan's excellent FAQ covering lots of details on the IDE/ATA hard disk interface.
• HDD Commands (ATA): A technical listing of ATA commands and registers..
• Micro House Hard Drive Search: An excellent tool that lets you search for specific hard disk information by manufacturer.
• Ontrack's Disk Manager: This is the dynamic drive overlay used by most hard disk manufacturers to enable access to larger hard disks on older systems.
• PC-Disk: A nice reference site containing jumpering, performance and other reference information for hundreds of different hard disk types. Note that the site is based in Germany.
• PowerQuest's PartitionMagic: The best utility for partitioning hard disks, in my opinion.
• Quantum Storage Resource Center: A useful collection of technical pages produced by hard disk drive manufacturer Quantum.
• Symantec's Antivirus Research Center: An excellent resource for information on viruses.
• The Tech Page: A site containing specs and jumper settings for many different types of hard drives.
• Western Digital's Service and Support: Useful reference information from the hard disk manufacturer.
