Old Site Updates - September 1998

September 20, 1998:

  • New Navigation Feature--More: I have added more sequential page-to-page links to the site, to enable easier navigation for those who want to read the site from "start to finish". These links now cover the entire contents of the Reference Guide.
  • Floppy Drive Swap and Linux: I added a note to the Floppy Drive Configuration page discussing the floppy cable, to reflect the fact that Linux, in addition to Windows NT, doesn't like seeing the floppy disk swap setting in the system BIOS enabled.
  • VCache Warning: I added a warning to the Operating System Performance Optimization page, regarding the possibility of interference between vcache settings and CD-R recorders.
  • Minor Changes: I fixed several mistakes and unclear statements in various places on the site.
