Old Site Updates - May 2000
May 26, 2000:
- Upgrading Fun: Sorry that I have let the tips go this week... I am now
doing a long-neglected upgrade of my home desktop machine and uh, having lots of fun with
it. Also working to put together a PC for my kids from odds and ends and finding a few
surprised. So for all you people who think I'm the consummate PC expert, there you go. ;^)
- Network Experts Out There? I am having a bit of trouble with networking
my Windows 9x machines together; it works but is slower than it should be. Also, I am
trying to get some reliable instructions for networking a Windows 95 machine in DOS
mode to a Windows 98 machine. If you have some experience in these areas and are
willing to help, please let me know. Thanks!

- Generic Update: Hi folks... I haven't updated the site in a while but I
have not stopped working on it. As you may know, I work on sections of the site offline
and then upload them when complete, and some take longer than others. I am presently
working on a total overhaul and rather ambitious expansion of the section on Hard Disk Performance, which will soon be renamed to
better represent its coverage of hard disk reliability and quality issues as well. Part of
this will be the addition of a large new section on a topic of increasing interest to
today's PC users. Being a mischievous sort, I am of course not going to tell you what that
is. :^) Look for it in a few weeks.
