As holidays approach and I plan to give thanks, I find myself thinking about the state of our banks.
Although in these times my deposits are few, for those who have helped me, I have enough for two.
I hope that some others can find in their heart, even the sparest of change with which they can part.
I came to this site with a hope to gain knowledge, I have learned so much, I must share with my colleagues.
We help when we can, and learn what we must, my future with Tech, in this site I do trust.

To Charles and Pete:
I know you are proud men and are not asking for donations. That is not how I want this to be looked at by anybody here. I want to show you fine gentlemen how much I appreciate your time and service, as do many others here.(we have already seen the willingness in another post)
I agree that this service should remain free and I will continue to do my part to help others just as you have helped me.
I also feel there is NO reason we cannot buy you something nice for the holidays to show our appreciation.
We will find a way to get you something even if you refuse to give us an address to send to (hehehe) so make it easy on us and get a P.O.Box.

We now have over 5200 registered users. I know that many have come and gone, and I know that many will not feel obligated to help. I DO NOT want anyone to feel obligated to this. I want those who feel the spirit of giving to do what they feel is right.

A little math to make some sense of it all:
5200 registered users,
50% contribute the change in their pockets on the first Sunday of every month (50¢?)
Each month for a year.
I don’t want to state a set amount. Its not important, If its important to you, you can find the answer yourself. What is important is that these gentlemen see how valuable their service is to us.
$6.00 won’t get you much in a repair shop. But combined together, we can give them a very nice Christmas present.

It was pointed out to me the other night in chat, that one could simply send a "TIP" thru the process used to order the PC Guide Disk Edition
Since I was a flounder and did not order my disk a coule of weeks ago when I finaly got some spending money, I have just done that and included a "TIP" along with it.

The address I threatened to post is already on the SITE so I will no longer hesitate to SEND YOU to it.

In all proceedures of sending money(bankcard,PayPal,check/money order), those that are ordering the Disk Edition can simply state "+ TIP" and add what ever amount they are comfortable with.
For those that are not ordering a disk, just put "TIP" as the item ordered and what ever amount you can.

I have included enough LINKS to get anybody to the ORDER PAGE, so I certainly hope my efforts are not in vein.
Please understand that I expect you to read the instructions on the pages you are linked to, just as you would anywhere you go.

Another idea is just make donations instead of buying the cd, this would prevent people from dogging the product and there would be no questions.
Also if Charles is real busy he'll have a lot of trouble shipping out those cds.(that would set up people being mad due to shipping also).

And one more idea, i rather have a pcguide tshirt, wouldnt that be wild? With all our names on it.
Heck lets just all get in the business and make it a paid site(maybe thats too extreme)but if IXL is really pressed for cash then this would do the trick.I just blabbing but if it sounds good lets do it.

Or: Maybe better if it were posted, say once a month (there are enough of us here to remember to do it!!) this way it would keep it current, rather than being forgotten about/ignored because it's always there as part of the page !!

Set a date: say 20th of each month, & lets see who's first to remember/post.

As for the T-shirts etc. yes I'd be proud to wear the motif, but it doesn't seem to be cost effective for what we are trying to do, so let's keep that as a seperate issue. ie: come up with a design (or use the one we already have) & we can each use it in our own way. or if someone is prepared to market them (making a percentage donation to the site) I'll go along with that.
