I have an HP DVD player from Dell. My DVD player is approximately 3 to 4 years old. 1 year ago my computer crashed. I took it for repair. When it was returned fixed the DVD drive was not working. When the DVD drive got fixed, no sound came out when a DVD disk was put into the drive to be played. You can view what is on a disk, but you can't hear what is playing. How do I fix this problem so I can see as well as hear what is playing on the DVD drive? IP: Logged |

Hi, I'm not into DVD's yet but similar to CD's I'm assuming there needs to be an analog (sound) cable to your sound card from BOTH or ALL the drives (CD, CDRW, DVD etc.) if you so choose. You'll probably have to go back to the last repair shop and tell them the problem because that's the most likely spot you'll find the audio (analog) cable that's missing. Unless you have A CD and a CDRW that both support sound, just take the analog cable off from the CDRW and put it on the DVD. The burner won't have sound but the players will. If it's all wires and mumbo-jumbo beneath the hood, don't jump right in. Ask a few more questions first. We'll probably have a few more as well. ------------------ You never really learn to swear until you learn to drive. (He should broaden that to pc's.) IP: Logged |
