My CD ROM drawer suddenly won't open. The light comes on and I can hear a slight whirring noise. But no movement from the drawer itself. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Not a complete soloution but worth a try,

Right click on the CD ROM icon in My computer and click eject in the menu.

If this fails try the following.

On the front of your CD-ROM draw there will be a small hole, normally next to the eject button but not always.

Straighten a paper clip, insert, wiggle and it will openn the draw.

You may find a dodgy CD or something jamming it.

If you have been inside computer the IDE cable may not be connected properly.
