sup peoples id greatly appreciate some help with my dilema i got a brand new comp with 700mhz duron Kt-7 raid 40.5 maxtorata100 256mb ram on Win ME heres the problem i just installed a d-link webcam/dc adn when i start my comp it want to start in safe mode ...Fine no problem... wouldnt happen alll the time but then it started more often to loop safe mode countdown would end then it would restart and just keep on going...now it will go to safe mode or if i used bootdisk and after safe mode selection my monitor goes to sleep but the comp still runs....i dont kno how but i was able to get throught this announace a couple times done everything Scanreg sys bootdisk CD minimal boot all that Scandisk OK Scanreg Ok i restored to a day earlier and got it to work lastnight 12/26 problem started christmas eve and i had the comp for over a month and just installed the webcam last week adn this problem just started this week if someone can help thank you your a god ijust need it to boot once then i wont shutdown(doh!! why did i shut down lastnite once i got it running!!)

About the only thing I can decipher there is that the machine is only a month old. In that case, it's still under warranty, take it back and have them fix it. Don't let anyone else touch it, you'll void the warranty.

I think Reid is right, some punctuation would help greatly...Most I can decipher, but this one's just too confusing...not trying to be insulting, but before we can try to answer your question, we have to be able to understand it...

If you can still get into Safe Mode, try uninstalling the web cam in Device Manager and uninstall the software for it. If it reboots normally, then you might try the install again.

It seems like you should be able to use the File System Checker to locate and restore a missing or damaged file, or use ME's Restore feature.
