Hello everyone, here's another one for you to sort out.....

I've been having some USB device trouble since I built my machine last October. It is based around an Abit KT7A with the VIA Apollo KT133A chipset running a 1.2Ghz Athlon CPU.

After some digging I found an article in the MS knowledge Database about VIA USB controllers and AMD processors over 350Mhz. Well dumb luck! I've got both!!

On this page it had a patch for Win98SE to 'cure' the fault.....I thought I had Win98SE but when I tried to run the patch it said it was not for my version of windows........

According to my system properties I have version 4.10.1998
Is this Win98SE????
Or is it the original version????

Can someone help me as I would like to get my USB devices working properly!!

Yep, you've got teh original 98 release ( OEM 95 was 4.10.1995 ), as Rick pointed out 98se is 4.10.2222A, and ME is 30 something.

Looks like you need to upgrade buddy! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif
