Want to reformat my c: and would like to know what utility program I should use to configure my system. I don't have any of the system disks for this computer. Am I in over my head????

To do a simple reformat is quite straight forward. Simply get yourself a Windows 95 or 98 boot disk, put it in the floppy drive and reset the computer. The computer will then boot up and eventually you will get to an 'A' prompt. Now type:

format c:/s

Press enter. The computer will give you a warning about destroying all the data on this disk. Enter 'Y' to this (assuming thats what you want to do!) and thats about it really.

Of course, you will now have to reinstall windows or whatever OS you are using but nowadays that is quite a simple matter. If you need help on this then let me know.
