have to admit ive never seen a black screen however changing you resolution can cause problems if you dont have a good monitor that can handle the resolution as well as the different color settings.... for eg. if you have vga 800*640 16 colours you cannot change the setting to 1024*768 256 colors unless you have svga hope if this is the case connect system to a better monitor higher resolution change the settings to fit your monitor and save hope this helps http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Try entering "Safe Mode" next time you boot...press F8 repeatedly until a screen appears offering a number of choices...select safe mode. If this works for you go into your display properties and try to readjust your colors and resolution settings. Also take a look in the device manager for possible conflicts.

Try and borrow a monitor to check it with. If you can get a picture and boot, go into the display properties and change things back to their original configuration. If you still get no picture, it won't hurt the monitor at all.

If you had everything...Where would you put it?

Try reseting your CMOS. IF someone has accidently selected agp instaed of pci or vice versa there is no other way to get into your PC.

Check your motherboard documentation on how to do so.
