After you install the new card and Connect the monitor cable to it
In most systems The onboard Video will be disabled at bootup.

Note one important thing before making the change.
The Voodoo card requires you set your bios to assign an IRQ to the video card.
It's best to enter your bios setup and assign the Irq before installing the new card.
Just save the new settings and allow it to reboot.

After that just turn the power off to the system.
Open up the case and install the new card. Connect the cables and start it up.

How you enter the Bios setup differ's from one bios to another.
Most will display a message at bootup.
Like Press DEL or ESC to enter setup.
Others use a key combo or Like the Compaq uses the F10 key.

Once you enter the Bios setup look around the different setting by using the arrow keys till you find the one for Assign IRQ to Video.
Then use the PageUp or Pagedown key to change the setting to enable.

Note if you don't find the setting listed then you may have an older Bios that automatically assigns an IRQ to the video.

Exit the bios setup using the save and exit selection.
And allow it to save and start to do a system check.

At that point just turn the power off to the system.
Open up the case and install the new card. Connect the cables and start it up.
