My work PC clock is slowly (but surely) losing time. I reset it again yesterday and logging on today noted that it's 12 minutes slow. Any clues as to why this is? Time to convince the boss for a new one perhaps??
Cheers

Gidday,
Sounds like you need to change the cmos battery. It usually looks like a watch but is about 2.5cm in diameter and it is mostly likely mounted on the motherboard. However depending on your motherboard it is possible that it may look like a short 3-4cm 'AA' battery connected by wires to the motherboard. This is usually a sign of the battery beginning to fail. Should also note that you should go into the bios and write down all the setting before you remove the battery as all settings will be lost and you will need to restore them. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hardtek answered just before I hit Submit. My response was about the battery too.

Thanks for that. Shame it's only a new battery required, not PC.....
Cheers.
