I just installed a Realtek NIC for my cable (internet) connection. It was assigned to IRQ 11 which is shared with my onboard audio controller (EPoX EP-8KTA2 mobo). Now I have lost my sound. Is there any way to Change one of these to IRQ 9 which is vacant or another IRQ so that I may enjoy sound with my new internet connection? Is it just a matter of moving the NIC to another free PCI slot? Thanks in advance!!

Removing the NIC in Safe Mode and reinstalling it in another slot might do the trick, or you can go into the sound card properties in Device Manager, uncheck the Use Automatic Configuration line in the Resources tab, and change the configuration.

I would try uninstalling the NIC in Safe Mode and moving it to a different slot first, then if you still have problems, change the IRQ of the sound card. If you have to do it that way you'll also have to watch the DMA settings.
