I uninstalled sound driver in safe mode and deleted all information on sound driver files when i restarted pc i still have driver lurking around somewhere.
I cant seem to find drivers im not sure if they are compressed.
I want to get rid off driver off my pc.
I want to install new sound card i cant untill the drivers are gone
Please help
After you uninstalled the drivers did you remove the card? Is it on board audio?
Search for the drivers in the .CAB files.

When you reboot it automatically finds and reinstalls drivers. You need to physically remove the card to totally get rid of it. Drivers will be either on the windows CD or the cab files, if they were copied to the hard drive during installation. In many cases with computers using restore disks, such as Compaq, drivers will also be found on the restore disk and sometimes they are the only ones the machine will use when the card is initially installed. I would boot into Safe Mode and remove the card from Device Manager, to make sure all duplicate copies are gone. That may also be why you still have drivers lurking about. Just remove all copies of the card listed in Safe Mode.
