View Full Version : Switching Windows...

If I have multiple windows open, such as multiple browser windows, I have a lot of difficulty switching between them. It sits there for a while before doing it, generally waiting till the window has finished loading whatever page it is loading. Also, when I try to switch to the next section in a form, either by using tab or by clicking, it shows the text cursor and sits there for a while before doing it. I have noticed that it seems to respond better to using alt and tab for switching between windows. Could this be a RAM problem? I have 96 mb of RAM, and have not had this problem until very recently. The only changes I have made to my computer recently was the installation on a virus scanner. Anyone know what is going on? -Joshua

Which browser? Which version? Which operating system? Which virus scanner?

That sounds a lot like what happened to me with IE 5 and McAffee. If that's your browser, go into Internet options, Advanced tab, and turn off autocomplete. That should fix it. I think you also have an autocomplete option somewhere in Outlook Express. Turn it off too.

I am using IE 5.0 and McAfee Virus Scanner, operating on Win98. I turned autoreply off; I hope it works! Any other suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!
