I've been working on a Packard Bell for a while now. It won't output a video signal to any monitor you hook up to it. I've checked the video card and it works fine when installed in another computer. The monitor also works when hooked up to another computer. In addition to these two, I've also checked: memory, hard drive, CPU, and power supply. All of these worked, so I figured it must be a bad mobo. I ordered an exact replacement board for this machine and it didn't fix the problem. Figured it was a bad replacement board (it happens), but the company says they checked it out and that's its okay. (pause while I scratch my head) There isn't anything left to check parts wise to explain this problem. Anybody got any ideas? I could really use some help.

I can fix that, but I'm gonna need some duct tape, an old car battery and a butter knife.

Sounds like some major troubleshooting to me.Is it a agp slot video card or pci? Try another video card ,maybe the video card your using isnt compatible with that motherboard.

Even though I know AGP cards often require a much firmer insertion force compared to PCI cards, they still occasionally "get" me. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Actually, the video card (AGP) is part of the original equipment of the computer. According to the client, the system was working fine until the day it wasn't working at all. I've checked and rechecked connections, cabling and hookups and all checks out. I'm about convinced that the company sent me a bum board and just won't stand behind their product, but frankly, I'm reluctant to order another mobo from them. I'm thinking about just telling my client that the best course is to divorce herself from Packard Bell and let me replace the board with a different brand. It's been a little hard to find companies that actually stock much in the way of micro atx boards though. Lots, of listings but not much actual stock. This entire repair has been kind of nightmarish so far and I'm really wanting to be done with it. If anyone else has any suggestions, I would appreciate them.

Thanks for the help guys. I went ahead and replaced the mobo with a different brand board that would get me away from the Packard Bell stuff. Guess what? Everything works great. Can't say enough about how much I dislike Packard Bell.
