I tried to reformat my hard drive and it came back with the message "recording bad clusters 12% complete can not continue not enough memory"
I've run scan disk and everything is ok
ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

Try and give us a bit more info. What is the OS, and are you booting to a start up disk or to a command prompt? You should be using a start up disk, and running format from the A:\> prompt. Sounds like you're trying to run from a command prompt, and not a boot disk, which would bypass autoexec.bat and config.sys and therefore all drivers etc that take up conventional memory.
