I am missing some drivers.
I had to recently format my HD.

Now I cannot change the resolution of my monitor from 16 bit colour. One the CD-ROM for the monitor it says that the monitors are not resposible for displaying the number of colours and it is the video card that is responsible for this.

I do not know what I should do.
How do I find out what drivers I need and where can I get the drivers from?

I bought the PC from an high street retail outlet so thus I have all the origional packaging and diskette. I have looked in these but don't think it is any of these.

First, do yo have onboard video or a separate video card?

Second, if there is nothing showing that IDs the card (like in device manager), then look at the card itself for identifying info...

Third, what windows version are you running and are you sure you are stuck in 16-bit color(High color)?

>First, do yo have onboard video or a separate video card?

I opened computer and took of the card. The monitor attaches two a brown slot similar to API slots but I think this is called AGP.

I can't decipher anything concrete.
The monitor connects into 15-pin female socket beside which says vedio. On the card there is a number attached to a chip SIS6326 V1.07. On the back of the card there is a bar code and number on top is JC9725 A 4M and another number DWJC98602142.

Perhaps should have done this first, (note I am using differnt computer to send this message)

Windows version is Win98
Yes I am quite certain on this matter. I tried installing a software that runs on 256 true colour and I was informed the application will not work. This application worked prior to the formatting of hard disk.

Please help

SIS6326 V1.07 (http://download.microshopper.com/hardware/video/) - scroll down to the bottom where it names the one you want.

I have found out I also require drivers for a SupraExpress 56i pro modem
Diamond Multimedia.

Can I get it from http://www.driverguide.com/join.htm?
Obtaining video drivers was a major headache I downloaded one set of drivers, which I thought resembled, my "number details" installed it and to my horror the whole screen went psychedelic and then pixilated. I had to reformat the whole hard disk in the end I swapped the whole video card and abandoned the original card.

I am constrained to using the current modem card so thus I will need to persevere in making this work. I am definitely sure this is the modem card because I remember whilst using the computer that I saw the icon in the "device manager" with the "SuperExpress ..." modem icon.

Please help.

Not to long ago I downloaded drivers for that same
modem at the Diamond website itself.

Here's a Link for the Drivers:
