I bought a Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse a few days ago. It works like a dream, except for one thing: the mouse sensitivity is reset every time i turn on the computer. Also, the touchpad driver on my laptop seems unwilling to share the driver with the mouse, so under mouse properties i only see touchpad options, and no Logitech windows (it shows in the manual that special options for the mouse will show under mouse properties)

What gives?

Sounds like the drivers are battling for supremacy. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
Is MouseWare installed? If so, you'll see the Logitech logo where the mouse picture used to be in the Control Panel. If so, go in there and try to see if you can set up support for both devices.
If not, install it (it's on the CD that came with your mouse). It should also allow support for the touchpad, albeit perhaps with fewer fancy touchpad features.
