When starting up my computer, for some reason my numbers lock key starts in the lock position. This just started happening and can't figure out how to correct the problem. Would appreciate any help as this is very frustrating because if I forget to unlock it and try to connect to the Internet the connection won't go through until I unlock/disengage the Num
Lock Key.

There is probably an option in your BIOS setup for "Boot Up Numlock Status", usually found under "Advanced Features". Check to see if it's enabled. If so, disable it, save changes and exit.

If that doesn't work or the setting doesn't appear in your BIOS setup, check your config.sys file for a NUMLOCK line. If it's there, type "rem" (without the quotes and with a space after it, i.e., rem NUMLOCK). Save the file and exit, then reboot your computer.

Hope this helps! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks for your tips. I tried them but didn't have any luck.. Nothing in the BIOS setup or in the config.sys file that I could find.

If you have any other suggestions, would appreciate them

Thanks,

Seems strange. You could always try adding "NUMLOCK=OFF" to the config.sys file...
