I got one of those free cheap dig. camera from Earthlink that is suppose to work only with W/95. Is there a way to config my pc so I can switch to 98? I am bored with 95 plus 98 has more trouble shooting programs and fixes to use on this sick computer.
Looked all over for the right place to post this and this is the closes I could get. Thanks

I would think the Software forum would be the best place, but that's ok for now...

Most of the time you can switch from win95 to 98 with no problems, with the exceptions of a few proprietary machines, like Compaq's that store part of the BIOS in a partition on the hard drive. Then you have to use the original restore disk, and you're stuck with the original OS. Unless you can buy a restore CD from Compaq with 98 on it, which I doubt...

With a non proprietary system, it's usually no problem. You have to get the Windows 98 CD, and install it. It's usually best to format the drive and do a clean install, the upgrades have always been problems. You can install from an upgrade CD without having Win95 installed, when the installation says it can't find the previous version of Windows put the win95 CD in and Browse to it, put the win98 CD back in and go...

If you decide to do it and need help, that's what we're here for.
