Here's what I wrote to Cannon, but after calling their automated service and getting their Candian phone number, then hung up on, I don't have must confidence in them.

I have changed from a BJC-5100(ink jet) to a Xerox WorkCentre XL35c(inkjet also). The 35c does not quite work correctly yet and I talked to the people at Xerox. They said that the best course of action would be to change the LPT1 printer port to an LPT1 ECP printer port through the bios. Due to liability issues they are not able to help me with this but they said to contact Cannon and you would help me with this. Could you email me instructions on how to go through this procedure?

Can anyone tell me why the my Kodak imaging program locks up during and after I scan a picture or how to change my LPT port to a ECP LPT (LPT ECP?) port in the Bios?

These links might help you work your way through the BIOS, and maybe get the setting you need. I con do it if I'm sitting in front of the machine, but it's a buit tricky to explain it when I can't see it.

BIOS Survival Guide (http://www.manawatu.gen.nz/pages/bios_survival/bios_sg.htm)

PC Guide System BIOS (http://www.pcguide.com/ref/mbsys/bios/index-i.htm)

BIOS Optimization (http://www.adriansrojakpot.com/Speed_Demonz/BIOS_Guide/BIOS_Guide_Index.htm)

Not too sure about Imaging locking up, my scanner uses so much of the system resources it locks up until the scan is finished, but then I can carry on. Is this what's happening or does it completely lock the machine up for good, making you reboot? If the scanner is routed through the printer, these two problems may be related.
