when running diagnostics in control panel/modems, i get a
message saying the modem isn't responding, blah, blah, blah...
it's an internal modem riser card going into the amr slot. it
decided com2 was the place to be. the driver seemed to install
cleanly as i see the proper name of the modem listed in CP/modems
under com2. resource conflict? i don't know how to configure it
to a different com port if that's what i should do. also, i'm not
convinced i had a clean install of all drivers associated with new
pci devices - could this somehow be the root of my problem?
some details: celeron 600 MHz, intel 810 chipset, win95
thanks for your help

Check your BIOS to see if COM2 is disabled. It should be.
