Hi Breakout,

Go to Control Panel, Keyboard and check all the settings there. Do you have a user manual with the new keyboard? If so, does it tell you about different options for setting it up? I would check the manual first to see if there is anything special you have to do in setting the keyboard up through Control Panel.

Let us know what happens.

Cheers,

I run windows 98 Thanks for your reply big blue 66.
I didnt get a manual with this keyboard, I bought it new from E-Bay.
My keyboard settings in the control panel dont have any special feature buttons to program.

You might want to peruse some websites to look for the manual for that keyboard. I am thinking that in order to get special function keys to work right, you may have to set them up in control panel. A manual no doubt would tell you how to do that.? Or better yet, maybe there is supposed to be some config software with the keyboard?

Good luck. Hopefully, other guys on here may have an idea or two.

I'm pretty sure you need to get a driver from NEC, if possible.

I bought a Toshiba keyboard at auction and was lucky enough to find (on Toshiba's site) the driver for it that enables the extra keys.

There are also websites dedicated to helping people find drivers.
