Hi,

I have 2 home pcs networked at home and they work great. I even share a cable modem with no problem (sygate), but I can't hook up a printer on the client machine. I am trying to use "add printer wizard" I check network printer and then get a box "Network path or queue name" I browse and see a printer icon labeled "hp" attached to computer no. 1. when I click that icon and ok it puts a path name in the box and I hit next. Then I get printer name where it says I can type my own name in or use the one that is there automatically. I leave the one (HPDeskjet680Cseriesv11.0) in there and click next and then agree to have a test page printed. I then get "hpdesk.icm on Network printer driver files cannot be found" and no matter where I go I cannot find a file to make this work. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Did it at any point ask for the drivers for this printer.

If not right click the printer's icon in the "printers" folder (start/settings/printers). Now depending on what Operating system you have you'll need to find a botton labeled "new driver" (this is sometimes on the second tab). When you click "new driver" you can install the drivers for this printer either from a CD (choose the "have disk" option )or from the print drivers list.

Hope this helps http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

I am continually amazed by the intelligence and generosity of folks who help out in forums like these. Ghost_Hacker...if I wore a hat it would most certainly be off to you. Your suggestions led me to the proper fix and I am grateful, and what's more important my wife is grateful to me 'cause she is now able to print from her computer.
