I inherited the scanner, lately in working order, and which Microtek no longer sells. It has a SCSI card interface and came with a manual, which talks about installing with Windows 95. I'm running Windows 98, otherwise my pc meets all system requirments (HDD, RAM, etc.)

Here's my problem: The installation instructions call for first installing the SCSI card (type MS-PCZ), but the Add New Hardware Wizard doesn't show Microtek as a manufacturer under SCSI devices, and under Other Devices it shows Microtek as a manufacturer, but lists no SCSI cards. I was able to download a driver for the scanner from Microtec's web site, but none for the SCSI card, so I can't use the "Have Disk" approach.

Is this because I'm running Windows 98 and the scanner is pre-Windows 98? Has anybody else run up against such a problem? Anybody out there using this model scanner with 98?

This site has bailed me out before, and I'd appreciate some more suggestions... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

Microtek is the mfr of the scanner, but not the SCSI interface card.

In the Add New Hardware Wizard pane, just scroll down a little further to get to MS-PCZ. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
