Just recently my disk drive (CD-Rom) will not work. It seems to be having trouble reading the disk and turning it. If anybody has any syggestions about this I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Welcome, gwhiteshark! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Not really much info to go on.
The drive's lens might be dirty and just need a cleaning.
Or the CD's themselves might be dirty/smudged. Or both.
You can get a kits at Wal-Mart to do both jobs. Good luck. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well,
Let's see I think first you need to take 'er up to the top of Seneca Rocks and let 'er rip and if it is still whole when it hits the bottom it should be Ok, if that don't work try the New River Gorge Bridge.... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif (just kidding, glad to see someone from WV here)
It could be in need of a good cleaning, not just the lens, and if it is more than a couple of years old, the possibility that is worn out is greater.
You may want to check that all the connecting cables are still firmly seated and that the disk you are trying to read isn't actually damaged in any way.
To completely clean it, it must be removed from the computer and the cover removed, then look at the two black rubber hubs in the center and clean them with a Q-tip and alcohol (although I've seen some recommendations to use either distilled water or plain household ammonia). Let it dry thoroughly and reassemble it.
If after that, it still doesn't work, or if you don't feel comforatble with that procedure a new one may be in order, check out the prices for them here:PriceWatch (http://www.pricewatch.com/)

MJC,
Also nice to see someone from WV on here. As tempting as is it to throw it over the New River Gordge Bridge....I won't http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif I have tried to clean the lens but still no luck. I am not sure how to take it apart, that is without breaking it more than it already is. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. thanks

Basically you have to remove the unit completely from the computer and open it up (should be several small screws) or drop me an email and I'll try and get you some detailed instructions...mjcash@nav.to
