I purchased a JVC digital camcorder only to find out that I can't plug it in to my pc. I am told that the cord that came with the camera is called a fire cord and I would need a fire card to use it. My system specs are Dell PC 933 mhz 256 mb ram,Win 98 2nd ed Not sure of the video and sound card but Im sure they are high end, the computer was a gift and I told the cust serv guy with dell to give me the best he had availiable. He told me the cam would work with the pc I ordered them together. However, I cant find a place to plug it in. I am not at my pc now or I would check the device mgr. The cord they sent with the cam looks like a USB but is larger and the cable resembles the old plastic coated bike chains we used to lock our bikes up at school. Any help would be great, I paid $800 for this thing and have only been able to do is take normal video. One more thing the dig cam uses tape not discs. Show me the way oh great and powerfull OZ http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

This is a question for tech support...unless your computer came with firewire support, you're going to need a separate card...depending on the case, the firewire port could be on the front of the computer, but the only people other than you that would know would be the ones at Dell, they sold you the system so they should have a spec sheet for it...
