I cant figure out why I can change the resource settings on some computers, and not on others. I get a message that reads somthing on the order of windows will not allow setting to be changed. Can I assume that because I cannot change settings that a conflict is not possible.

No you cannot assume this, but you need to say what O/S is been used on all the machines.

E.g NT4 / 2000 can be setup so a normal user can not change settings, only an Administrator.
