My Ricoh MP9120A won't burn onto CDs that have a high reflection coating (eg. Kodak, TDK, Laser, etc) but does work on media like MaxMax and Emtec. I have been told that updating firmware for the drive might help but as yet I haven't been able to find it. Has anyone had similar problems who can recommend something I can do to avoid having to search out particular brands? Thank you.

Welcome to wild wonderful world of CD burning....that is one of the problems, certain burners work best with ceratin brands of media, for the time being, until you find the update the best I can offer is to use those brands that are either recommended by the drive manufacturer or are know to work...

Just got a server error, so I hope this doesn't double post!

You might try HERE (http://perso.club-internet.fr/farzeno/firmware/) for your firmware needs.
