I am about to buy the best new precision Optical mouse that i can find. I want to stay away from trackballs however. So I have narrowed my decision to 2 mice the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical and the Logitech WIreless Optical. Some problems exists in both. Does anyone have any suggestions?

suggestions? for what buying? Aparently you know what problems exist.
Follow your instincts not like your buying a Lexus it's just a mouse? http://www.howstuffworks.com/question631.htm this is an optical mouse and how it works.
could buy one of those new optical mice that attatch to the head every time you move your head the curser follows your movement.Just a thought.

I have MS optical wireless exp mouse. It's nearly perfect, but as per reviews, eats batteries. I too hesitated re purchase till I went to a store and felt one out. Nicely large... hmmmmmm if it had a nipple on it,it would be perfect.

I have a "Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0A USB Compatible" and it works perfectly except for one problem. For some unknown reason every once in a while the mouse-cursor jumps to the bottom right corner of the screen and if I'm playing games or something it is a problem. Other than that I love it.. It has a nice trackball and an easy to clean under surface if goo gets on it. I suggest it!

OK, Well the problems that I encountered with the Intellimouse were driver problems(compatibility issues). The Microsoft mouse cursor jumping is not uncommon, since I have read many forums in search of problems and other things. Logitech seems to be the best one after the research but suprisingly enough a lot more people own the Intellimouse then the Logitech mosue. As far as money goes, I dont feel like dumping 60-80 dollars on a non working POS when I can do a bit of homework and make the right choice.

You say you want to stay away from track balls have you ever used one? I have a logitech(not optical) and I love it would never go back to a standard mouse or another brand.
