I have an Epson 1640SU Perfection scanner. It has somehow lost the TWAIN driver. OS is W2k Pro. I have tried disconnecting it from the USB port, removed it in Device Manager, and removed all of its software. When I reinstall the software, once the Scanner is plugged back in it keeps trying to install it even if it is already installed, "Found new hardware" wizard seems to get in an endless loop....Also, when you try to install the TWAIN Driver fromt the CD, under "Reinstall TWAIN driver", it first tells you that you need to Uninstall it first and then reboot the pc....I have done this, but everytime you click "Reinstall TWAIN driver", it says the same thing, you need to uninstall it first, I want to REInstall not uninstall, but it won't let me. Thanks in advance. PLS HELP!!

Go to start / run / type in :regedit32
Then go HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software
And find the software to the epson and delete the key.
Also try the manufacturers site, they may have issue about this.
