Hi!

I have a PIII, 128 RAM, W98, USB. One day I discovered that my HP Scanner (ScanJet 5200C) coudn't work any more; I tried to re-install it many times, but the software can´t find the scanner via USB port; I already checked the status for the USB drivers in Control Panel and it seems to be OK. And guess what, when I tried to install it via Scanners and Cameras icon (from Control Panel), my scanner doesn't appears in the list taken from their own installation CD! I have no idea how to fix the problem, I think the problem could be in the USB driver. I hope any of you could help me because my work is stopped!

Sometimes if the device is plugged in when you boot you will need USB enabled in BIOS.

Have you tried "hot plugging" it to see if it will pop up the dialogue box asking to install the drivers?
