I have an Acer FM336/56PVS modem which appear to be functioning fine for basic Internet functions.

However, using Win98 Control Panel->System I see that there is a problem with a "Missing Wave Device Driver".

I have done searches of the Modem SW disk, the Win98 CD and my Soundblaster16 CD and Windows doesn't find any appropriate drivers.

What is this all about? What *would* be an appropriate driver(s)?

Is there supposed to be some sort of physical link between the modem and the SB16? (the SB16 manual suggests this, but the Acer manual does not - but does mention speaker/mic jacks out the back of the modem).

You need to go to the Modem manufacturers web site and download the latest set of drivers and Modem INF files.

Included in them should be all the info needed by the PnP to correct the missing driver
