I installed a new modem 56KV90 and it installed to com port 4. The software I use does not support this port. Is there any way to change the port it uses? If so, HOW!

To change the COM port for a modem
Open Phone and Modem Options in Control Panel.
On the Modems tab, click the modem you want to configure, and then click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, click Advanced Port Settings.
If this option is not displayed, the modem does not support changing the assigned COM port
In Com Port Number, click the port number you want to use.
Good luck
Also what is the software you are wanting to use...certain DOS based programs can't be used with a winmodem(software) modem.
