sometimes, wheni make backup copies of my files or make a custom recording CD, the CD burner just ejects the CD i nthe middle ofthe writing process saying there s an error....this happens 60% of the time...why? is it the software? i use the easy cd creator that came with the CD Burner...
what could be the possible troubleshooting areas?

CD mastering is a very CPU intensive program, therfore make sure no other programs are running in the background, ie..anit-virus is a good example.
Shut down all processes except Explorer and your CD program-this should help eliminate any buffer underruns you encounter. Also i would recommend at least 128 MB's of RAM, as CD burning is also Memory intensive. Try burning at a lower speed, sometimes the hardware just won't support your maximum burn speed; the data transfer just can't keep up. This usually happens when you have the CD burner ( or Player ) installed on the same IDE controller as the HD, they ( it ) should be on it's own IDE channel ( like the secondary ).
