My fan is starting to get pretty noisy these days. It doesnt sound as if it is going to explode, but it is getting that loud humm. Is this an early sign that it is ready to die?
I have an older Gateway2000 G6 PII 233mhz, anyone know what size/part number fan I need for this thing? Also where is a good online site to buy a new one.
As usual, you guys are my Heros and thanks for all your help!!!! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

That's probably a pretty good estimation of an upcoming problem; try Price-Watch (http://www.pricewatch.com), you'll find a great no# of deals on PC gear.
Is this a Slot1 system or a PGA?
We'll need to know this in order to assist you with a fan/HS recommendation.

Also.....are you talking about sounds from the fan in the back of the computer [the power supply fan] or the fan that cools the cpu?
In either case, it usually is a early sign that replacement is in the near future.....the cpu fan is cheaper than a power supply however! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
