I have a Millennia Max XP2 running Windows 2000 SR2. The computer came with a standard Logitech 2 button mouse. I purchased a Microsoft Trackball Explorer 1.0 PS2/USB compatible mouse. It has four buttons and a wheel. My system will not recognize the mouse as a Trackball Explorer. It recognizes it as a Microsoft PS/2 Port Mouse (Intellipoint), 2 buttons, no other features. I have installed the Intellipoint 3.2 mouse software. When I look under the device manager, it says "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". The mouse does work as a standard 2 button mouse, but I'm losing the other functionality. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse and mouse software. I have tried to search for and install updated drivers. The system will only recognize the mouse when it is plugged into the PS/2 port. When I plug it into the USB, the mouse won't move at all and the system doesn't recognize that it is there. I have tried going through Microsoft Online Assisted Support through their webpage. But the techs kept giving me proposed solutions for Win95 or Win98, despite my repeated statements of running Win2000. They finally told me to go to Micron, it was their problem. Can anyone help me get my mouse to work the way its suppose to?
