HAs anyone out there had serious problems with their Canon BJC-8000 when they attempted to refill cartridges? I attempted to refill the black one before Xmas but quickly learned this was a dead-end so I broke down and bought a new one ($35 later). I was able to refill the color and photo cartridges OK and the printer was back and quite happy by mid February this year.
But alas, I tried to print something recently and the printer refuses to communicate with Win98SE. I even moved it to my second, older P233MMX machine (which runs Win95) with the same result. The printer appears to have a serious beef with the color cartridge - refusing to repark the cartridge craddle and "beep-beep"ing at me like crazy. I replaced this with the Photo cartridge and at least the craddle goes back to home - but the printer still refuses to come on-line.
What's going on? Even if there was a problem with the color cartridge - why wouldn't the printer come on-line at least?!
I'm mostly interested in hearing back from people with first-hand experience with this printer or something close to it in the Canon product line (i.e. BJC-7000 is very similar I understand).
