I have a Lexmark x73 printer scanner that is to slow when it begins printing. For example the part that the wait is over deals with the printer
voice saying printing started then the timer shows almost 32 seconds before
there is any actual printing which actually throws print time off. Is there a way to speed up the process and have it accurate? I am using Win XP with this printer. Any thoughts appreciated.

The X73 is a win printer.(USB)
Your system speed / performance has a direct affect on the printer performance
Not knowing what system you are running.
I’d say start by reducing the over head in your system
pause or end any other un-needed processes when you use the win device
And / Or You may also want to raise the Printers priority

Also check your spooling options...if you are waiting for the last page to spool before printing starts, it could take a very long time to start, depending on the content of the pages and how many there are...

How do I go about raising prioritys? And I suppose I will find spooling
options under printer properties? Would turning off the voice help?

Turning off the voice might help....spooling options should be under the properties.
