It is MOST uncommon for that to happen....Open the case up and restart the computer while watching the cpu fan. My guess is that it is NOT working!!
You have the classic symptoms of a overheated cpu. The cpu fan is not that expensive and when you put the new one in......you will see the problem disappear.......I hope!! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

By the way....if computer is just freezing, but not resetting, it probably isn't the cpu fan. Have you installed MS Explorer 5.5 or any other software just prior to this happening?

Randy,
you were right about the heat. My processor sits enclosed in the bottom of my computer desk, but there is a heat register that blows on the side of the desk. I closed the register off and it hasn't froze up once sinse I did that. Thanks
