hello,everybody:
I meet a strange problem with my 56k EPP modem.
The modem and phone share the same line. My problem is: Keep my PC running in Win2k OS and my modem not being used. Then a telephone call will kill my PC. I have never meet such phenomenon before I reinstalled the same driver for the modem.
Can you help me?

sandra

Are you using a call waiting modem?

Maybe you need a surge protector that protects phone lines as well. But that's always a good idea.

Wait for other opinions.

In the modem propertie look for any "Auto-answer" settings and make sure it is disabled, also check for a "Wake on ring" setting and disable that one too.
