CAN I USE MY STANDARD USB PORT FOR USB 2 CD ROM? IS THERE A WAY TO UPGRADE TO USB 2? THANKS.

I'm not posistive, but I think the USB2 standard should be backward compatible so the drive should work fine.

You might check your motherboard manufacturer's website and see if a BIOS update is available that would upgrade the USB compatibility, but be VERY careful if you do update the BIOS, and make sure you have a definite reason to do so. It can lead to disaster...

No. Well, you can use it, but only at USB 1.1 speed, if the device is able to operate at that speed.

IS THERE A WAY TO UPGRADE TO USB 2?

Add a USB 2.0 controller card to your computer.
