I upgraded to Windows XP, only to find that my CDROM and CD Writer drives have disappeared. Since then I have reinstalled Windows ME. CDROM is not even listed in my Device Manager so I cant even reinstall from there. I have a Hewlett Packard, 800mhz, PentiumIII computer. If anyone knows how to fix this please help!

OK, first thing enter the BIOS and see if the drives are set to auto detect. Then if you have ME boot into safe mode and see if they show up there, if more than once remove all occurances of them and then reboot.
