i notice that in some threads about unstable mice, that some moderators suggest trying the mouse on another system? i thought that once a mouse is installed on one p.c that in order to work om another system it(the other system) much have the mouse in questions (driver) to operated, no?
if i went to comp u.s.a. or any where and bought a new mouse is all i would have to do is come home and plug it in? whats involved installing a new mouse besides the fact that it must be compatable?
thanks, bill

Yes, that is about it...

But, you should remove the current driver and let windows install a driver for whatever mouse you have connected, or force Windows to use the generic P/S2 or serial driver (wireless mice do require special drivers, USB mice can be hotswapped and rely primarily on the USB drivers to function). Most mice use the manufacturer's specific mouse drivers for added features.

wireless mice do require special drivers,

Not so MJC, or at least not with any cordless/corded mouse i ever used-as long as you use the supplied PS/2 adapter ( or USB one for that matter ), Windows will detect the mouse as a Generic PS/2 2 button(wheel) mouse.

This is how i use my cordless/optical Logitech, and it is how i use any mouse-as i see no need to load any unecessary mouse software to " enhance " my surfing experiance.

I can left/right click, and scroll-what more does a man need. :D
