What drivers are you using for your GF2? it came with a cd? do you know the brand? Because it's always better to use the brand-specific drivers than the generic NVidia ones. I would think it has something to do with either DirectX or OpenGL since you say it happens only after playing games.
Also update DirectX to version 8 if you didn't yet, and look for any updates to the motherboard itself.
